Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in commercial and residential buildings
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures
- Use hand and power tools to cut, bend, and thread pipes
- Test plumbing systems for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as carpenters and HVAC technicians to ensure proper installation of plumbing systems
- Follow safety procedures and regulations on job sites
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a plumber or completion of an apprenticeship program
- Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating pipe lengths and angles
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and find effective solutions
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and work in confined spaces
- Valid driver's license for commercial driving purposes
Note: Experience or skills in carpentry, HVAC, or general maintenance person work are a plus.
