Weekend Camping Leader This is a part-time, seasonal position.
We have openings available at two locations: Camp Gambill, near Paris, Texas Camp Bette Perot, near Palestine, Texas This position works weekends (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday morning).
Part-time (up to 29 hours/week) Seasonal: Fall-Spring Pay rate: $16-$18/hour Required Qualifications: Available to work on weekends.
A willingness to be active outdoors in variable weather conditions all day (heat, cold, rain, humidity, wind, snow) and to walk extensively around camp.
Maintain all safety and sanitation standards on camp property.
Preferred qualifications: Experience working with youth.
Experience participating in outdoor activities or cooking preferred.
Available to work a majority of the weekends camp is open during the fall.
Job summary: The Weekend Camping Leader is responsible for leading fun, impactful outdoor leadership experiences for girls, volunteers, and families participating in weekend camping.
Leaders will lead program activities or kitchen operations, oversee safety, and provide excellent customer experience.
This team member also supports the overall operation of weekend camping by welcoming and orienting visitors, preparing materials, maintaining equipment and supplies, and solving problems.
The position reports to the Activity Supervisor or Camp Program Manager.

Primary responsibilities include: Work in a team with other camp staff for effective implementation of camp program activities, logistics, and customer service Facilitate positive group experiences in outdoor activities, such as swimming, boating, target sports, crafts, fishing, high ropes challenge course, teambuilding, campfire, dining hall meals, and more Prepare and maintain supplies, equipment, and spaces Maintain all safety and sanitation standards on camp property and at activity spaces, including activity protocols, safety ratios, and kitchen codes and standards Adhere to assigned program schedule for the weekend Complete camp support tasks as assigned, such as organizing, inventorying, assembling, tidying, and more Performs other duties as assigned Champion a positive, inclusive, caring, safe, and fun camp environment and promote the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law Minimum requirements: Willingness to be active outdoors in variable weather conditions all day (heat, cold, rain, humidity, wind, snow) and to walk extensively around camp Willingness to be welcoming, respectful, enthusiastic, and professional with colleagues, members, and the public at all times Willingness to listen to, learn from, and cooperate with others Maintain skills and certifications to support activities offered at camp (all Leaders are expected to be able to work in one or more areas) Willingness to abstain from: Use of tobacco products, vaping and electronic cigarettes, alcohol, and illegal drugs while on camp property or while on duty, plus abstain from possessing on camp property and from returning to camp under the influence of any such substances; use of explicit language or harmful language; volatile expressions of emotion; wearing clothing that features alcohol, drugs, or harmful topics or language Demonstrates and promotes a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this council, and others with whom her/his position puts her/him in contact.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Activities occur both inside and outside and employee is subject to both environmental conditions; however, employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
